VISIBLE ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO .NET 2003
VISIBLE Developer 3.2 helps developers build Visual Studio .NET 2003 applications at half the cost and effort of traditional development methods.
Lexington, MA. - April 24, 2003 -- Visible Systems Corporation, a member of the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Integration Program (VSIP), revealed today that its tool, Visible Developer 3.2, is available to help companies more efficiently build enterprise Web services using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. Visible Developer now works within the Visual Studio .NET IDE to automatically generate 90+% of the business logic and database access code in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET, Visual C# .NET and now ASP.NET directly from the application model. With Visible Developer 3.2, companies building new applications or moving existing applications to the Microsoft .NET Framework can save 50% of the cost of traditional development methods.
"Visible just made it easier for its customers to continue working within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment by supporting Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 in this release of Visible Developer" said Mike Cesino, President and COO of Visible Systems. "We've added support for Microsoft ASP.NET code generation to our proven Visible Developer product which already generates production code for Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual C# .NET. Visible Developer goes well beyond the shell code produced by competitive products by generating a production application."
"Visible Developer complements and extends the power of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 by automatically generating business logic for the developer," said Chris Flores, lead product manger for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft is pleased to see Visible delivering such robust solutions to our mutual customers."
About Visible Developer ( www.visiblesystemscorp.com/Products/Developer )
Visible Developer 3.1 is a software component design and development tool that generates fully functional three-tier applications incorporating the latest technologies: ADO.NET, Microsoft Visual Basic .NET, Visual C# .NET and XML. It maps the physical database design to a single logical business object. Developers use design-time objects to express business requirements in Visible Developer's model. Code patterns translate requirements into the Microsoft Visual Basic .NET classes, modules, forms, and stored procedures comprising the applications.
Because it is model-based, Visible Developer is particularly valuable to companies that use model-driven architecture. By combining a single model of the business application with the Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET code patterns, Developer lets companies modernize applications without the cost and risk of a rewrite. The IT group gets greater leverage from its existing staff, and developers maintain focus on adding business value.
Visible Developer's model-based development results in reusable, technology-neutral business components. The current product includes code generation for Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET. A synchronization feature keeps the business component design consistent with the underlying database.
Visible Developer Professional edition is priced at $1,995 and Visible Developer Standard edition is priced at $595.
