Tech Tip

When errors occur during a Razor operation, an error log is sometimes seen. Many times within these error logs, there are SCCS error codes that allow users to debug their own errors. The error codes appear in parentheses, making them easy to spot. The following is a common error:

ERROR [/home/rtfrazor/system/RAZOR_UNIVERSE/DOMAIN_01/RtfUnix/Archive/SCCS/irrm 5/s.generate_uvrs.h]: line too long (de18) ret=1 + exit 1 ****- 'EXITED - 1'

The good thing about SCCS errors is that they are full of information.

1. Note the string, "line too long." That should give users a good piece of information.

2. You can always invoke SCCS help for additional information too.

# sccs help

# sccs help de18

de18:
"No new line at end of file ..."
The last line in the file ... does not end with a newline. It is illegal to input such data to the history file created earlier as a text SCCS file.

At this point, users should have a good idea of what the problem is. SCCS errors out because the file needs a new line at its end. To solve this problem, simply add a new line and the operation should continue without a hitch.

Other common SCCS errors include:

Error Code Cause
1. ut10: **File system full.
2. cm7: No ID keywords in file.
3. ut13: **Disk full, disk drive error, file locked.
4. ge17: May indicate a locked file or file out of sync.
5. co27: File longer than 99,999 lines.

**Contact your System Administrator to resolve this problem.

OS Changes

In order to continue growing the Razor user interface to support the requests of our user base, we are considering phasing out support for the following platforms:

Solaris 2.5.1
SunOS 4.1.x
Linux Kernel 2.0 Red Hat 5.1

We would greatly appreciate feedback from current Razor users who would be affected by this decision. Please feel free to send your comments or concerns to razor_sales@visiblesystemscorp.com .
