Hardware/Software Requirements

To operate effectively Visible Advantage requires:

• Intel 80486 computer for Microsoft Windows 3.1 (or later) with at least 8MB RAM, or
• Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0, 2000, or XP requires a minimum of 256MB RAM.
• At least 50MB of available hard disk storage space is recommended.
• A VGA colour monitor with a Windows supported mouse is also necessary.

Additional hard disk storage is needed for project encyclopedias, for each project that will be processed over a period of time on the machine. As a guideline the disk storage allocated for projects depends on project complexity, such as:

• A small project of approx. 100 entities, 100 associations and 500 attributes, with approx. 100 planning statements, may occupy 1 - 2 MB, depending upon the amount of text in planning statements, and in data model and process model complexity.
• A large project with approx. 1000 entities, 1000 associations, 3000 attributes and 500 planning statements may need 20 - 30 MB, depending upon the amount of text in planning statements, and in data model and process model complexity.
